It all began on a mountain road.

Fifteen years ago, filmmaker Stuart Acker Holt was on a road trip through the French Alps with his university music tutor, Suade Bergerman. As they climbed a steep Alpine pass, Stuart was struck by Suade’s encyclopaedic knowledge—from the geology beneath their tyres to tree species silhouetted in the fading light.
Moved by his friend’s brilliance, Stuart asked: “Who do you find most interesting?” Suade replied without hesitation: “My uncle - Roger Graef.”

That introduction led to the legendary documentary filmmaker Sir Roger Graef, who then pointed Stuart to journalist Angie Mason, who led him to a single Jewish mother turned pioneering reggae promoter. This unexpected chain became the first “Trail”—a new way of mapping human connection through meaningful introductions.

Since then, Stuart has followed hundreds of Trails across continents, capturing over 200 stories of remarkable people.
What began with a question on a mountain road has become a global methodology for connecting lives—and revealing the extraordinary.

A story telling engine

Each Trail is captured through short films and digital content that fuel:
1. employer branding
2.leadership development
3.internal engagement.

It doesn’t just tell stories—it builds a culture of trust, belonging, and human connection.

The Trail is a human-powered chain of nominations—where one inspiring person leads to the next, revealing unexpected voices, hidden talent, and fresh perspectives.

Trails allow us to curate network of creativity and intelligence. They reveal authentic relationships, powerful stories and multiple perspectives that no algorithm or traditional networking approach could discover.
